Chaos! (warning:LONG post)

I know, I haven't posted on here in a while. I've been CRAZY busy!

First of all, I went to Mississippi this past weekend. My Aunt Kathy was supposed to have liver surgery so I drove my mom down to Mississippi on Friday evening. We didn't arrive until 3am! On the way there we got lost which is funny because we've been making this drive for 16 years. But anywho, not only did we get lost the people on the road were CRAZY! But never-the-less we survived the trip and made it, mostly unscathed.

I came home on Tuesday, leaving mom to fend for herself with the relatives :P. It was my first solo "road trip" and as you can see from the picture to the left, it was VERY boring! The most nerve racking part was having to stop for gas and even that wasn't all that bad. I listened to Glee almost the entire way home (yes, I do have 8 hours worth of Glee to listen to, and yes, I'm aware that that's a little sad lol).

So, Mom and my aunt went to New Orleans Wednesday and found out that her surgery was postponed until Friday (today). Well, long story short today she went into surgery to have blood vessels that were growing on the outside of her liver removed. When the surgeon looked at her liver he realized that he would not be able to remove those blood vessels which rendered the surgery useless. Aunt Kathy is now in recovery, surrounded by her mom, my mom and her two children. She is also now being placed on the liver transplant list so we are praying a new liver become available soon.

Anyways, like I said, I've been CRAZY BUSY! After I got home I had to go to class Wednesday and later Ryan made me dinner :). He made a very yummy Chicken Marsala. I had started to make it but somehow he ended up doing most of it lol. Then Thursday I woke up and cleaned the fridge! I took out and wiped down all the shelves, threw away old food and then wiped down the outside of the fridge! It's empty now and we look like we have no food, but it's clean!

Today I had class again and then after class I went to babysit for a wonderful family :). After that I came home and cleaned the pantry and the cabinets! Luckily tomorrow Dad and I are going shopping because we totally look like we have NO FOOD!

Breeding season?

Ok, so I feel totally accomplished! I am one of the VERY few people from my high school class that is not having a baby. All these people getting their girlfriends prego right out of high school IT'S CRAZY! And what is even more entertaining is listening to them talk about how much fun it's going to be. FUN?! Seriously? What is fun about waking up every two hours, if not more, changing poopy diapers, having your body completely torn apart, being peed/pooped/puked on. Not to mention the fact that infants cry A LOT.. and you can't always make them shut up. Yes, they're ADORABLE and when they giggle or smile at you it makes all the annoying awful things they've done to you worth it but I would hardly say that alone makes the entire experience FUN. ANDDDD most of these people, if not all, do not actually have GOOD jobs. Do they have ANY IDEA how much formula, diapers, wipes, bottles, doctor visits etc cost? Of course not, because they're 19 years old! The only reason I know is because I babysit kids all the time and I have witnessed it with my sister and AJ.

I want kids, several of them actually, but NOT NOW! geeezz people!

Cross Stitch adventure

I posted before that I was going to start cross stitching and I have FINALLY gotten around to it! I just started it tonight so I haven't gotten very far BUT I have pictures of the pattern and where I'm at so far(again, not very far lol).

 The pattern is called "Lady Of the Mist" and it is a Mirabilia pattern. I love the roses and the color on her.

This is how far I've gotten lol. Like I said, I know it's not far but hey.. at least I finally started. There are a few mistakes in it but it's the first real cross stitch I've done and I don't expect it to be perfect. I don't even think you can tell there are mistakes unless you are looking for them, so don't look for them please :).

 I thought it would be funny to put a picture of my "workspace". It is... a cluttered mess at the moment lol. To the right is a cookbook. I am trying to think of something to make for Valentines Day dinner(more on that in a bit). Then there is my patter, thread, and my cross stitch. Obviously the TV is there for noise and entertainment(I'm watching Criminal Minds, in case you were wondering), ANNNDD you can see that I have my blog up on my laptop and I am also talking to Meagan about my cross stitch and her sewing machine lol.

Okay, so now on to other things! Valentines day is Monday and I have decided I am going to surprise Ryan by making him something to eat. I'm debating between chicken marsala and beef burgundy. I also haven't decided where I'm going to make it. Since he rents a room in someone elses house he doesn't actually have a kitchen. They wouldn't mind if I used there's but I don't know if I want to do that. I COULD ask my wonderful Aunt Emily if I could use her kitchen since she lives right down the road. We shall see, and I'll let you know how it goes :D.

We have had the CRAZIEST winter Texas has seen like... ever. No... seriously.. it's a record breaking winter! It has snowed THREE TIMES! We had SIX INCHES last week! SIX INCHES!!! In Texas!!! And it snowed/iced again today! It's unheard of! I wish it would all go away.. I need spring to come! On the plus side, it's supposed to be almost in the 70's this weekend!



Ok, well I am off to cross stitch some more. I had to take a break because I was going cross eyed lol. Going to see Ryan tomorrow if the roads aren't too bad :D Night!

Baby It's Cold Outside...

... and by cold I mean freezing! It's 13 degrees outside! At about midnight last night it started raining, which eventually turned into freezing rain so now there is ice EVERYWHERE! Classes were canceled for tomorrow and I don't know if there will even be class Friday. Tomorrow the high is 21, Thursday it is 25 and finally on Friday it will be 37, but since my classes are from 8am-12pm I don't know if it will be thawed out by then. I can't same I'm heart broken but at the same time it's a little boring not being able to go outside. My neighbor, Laramie, talked me into going for a walk today... that was stupid lol. Good news though, the weather will be above freezing in time for the Super Bowl.

Moving on. There has been a slight bit of drama lately and I just have to share it, as I find it completely amusing, and yet, slightly annoying at the same time. This guy, Steven, that Ryan and I know through Ryan's coworker, Cody, used to talk to me. In person he was always very nice and respectful but not so much the case when he would text me. He would hit on me relentlessly, and he wasn't discreet about it either. I always told Ryan about it and eventually Ryan got tired of it and said something to Cody, who, of course, said something to Steven. Steven decided to stop texting me, which was fine by me. Well, Sunday night he texted me out of the blue. I basically told him that it was fine that we talk so long as he was appropriate. It didn't take him long to break my one rule. He said "if I say certain things to you, you don't have to tell Ryan." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was shocked that someone would actually say that! I told him "You're right. I don't have to tell him, but I do, because I value him far more than I value you. And also, I have more respect for myself than to allow you to talk to me or treat me that way." Who does he think he is? Does this guy seriously think he is so awesome that I would sabotage my relationship with Ryan for him? I couldn't, and still can't, believe he said that to me! Needless to say, I told Ryan what he said and he is pretty mad about it and I, of course, am not talking to Steven.

Oh! Before I go, I almost forgot to tell you! Ryan held a baby for the first time! He held little AJ! I was babysitting  him and Ryan stopped by. I had to go to the bathroom so I just kinda said "Here hold him for a second" and didn't really wait for him to say no. I shoved AJ in his arms and walked off the the bathroom, not before I got a picture though, of course LOL. 

I went shopping at Delia's and this is one of the outfits I got, with the exception of the shoes. Ryan bought me the shoes from DSW years ago :).

Busy Busy Bumblebee

I know, I know. I haven't been on here in several days. I've been rather busy this past week. Between school, work, and Mom/Maegan I'm hardly ever home. Not that I'm complaining. I like being busy.

School has been going pretty well. My professors are pretty cool. My English professor is going to bring us tacos at some point lol. She's pretty funny, and random. My sociology professor is from some where in the south, which I gathered from her THICK southern accent. Not as thick as the majority of the people in my family but not many people are that southern.

I went shopping today! Mom and I went to Delia's and I bought CUTE stuff! I got three adorable skirts and some shirts too. I got a t-shirt that says "Bazinga" on it bahahaha. Then we met Maegan for lunch and McAlisters. YUM!! Maegan has decided she's going to dress more sophisticated so we went over to the GAP(after making a trip back to her car because she for got her gift cards). Mom and I dropped Maegan off at her car and headed over to the cross stitch store. I have decided to take up cross stitching, we'll see how long it lasts. I was thinking and realized that I don't really have any talents, except for shopping(my mother pointed that one out) and horse back riding. Both of which I can't afford to do, so cross stitching it is. Although I must say, cross stitching isn't all that cheap either). Since I spent the day shopping I had to go out to Ryan's house to shop him all the cute stuff that I got and we ate the left over stir fry I made Monday night.

Speaking of stir fry.... I made stir fry Monday night. I know everyone goes oh YUM! But seriously.. that was the most emotionally draining thing I've done in a LONG time. Who knew cooking could take so much mental energy? Well, for normal people it doesn't but you're stuck with me and we all know I'm not normal. Anywho... I was all excited to make my stir fry. I had gone to store and bought my steak and veggies and came home to look for my recipe.. and couldn't find it! We looked EVERYWHERE and didn't find it! I was mad and sad and annoyed and then I had a little mental break down... over a recipe... and being fat. Which I know I'm not fat but whatever, I'm female and when we females don't know why we're upset we just say it's because we're fat(I don't actually think that's true but it makes me feel better so I typed it anyways... I'm crazy, sue me). Anywho, I never did find the recipe but my friends mom, who gave me the recipe to begin with, texted me a picture of it and saved the day! It was totally yum!!!!

Ok well, that's all I can really think of for now so good night!

Fresh Start

Tomorrow is going to be a fresh start. I start my spring classes and am going to make this semester better than the last. I would really like to make all A's in all my classes but I refuse to make less than a B. I am taking Sociology, History, Math, and English. I'm pretty excited about my schedule. My first class is at 8 in the morning and my last class ends at 11:50am and I only go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday which is a major improvement from last semester. I am sort of looking forward to starting classes tomorrow because I'm tired of sitting at home doing nothing.

Today I went over to Maegan's house and babysat AJ while Maegan and Andrew went to the shooting range. I enjoyed getting to spend some quality time with the little man. He was pretty good. He didn't really cry, except for when he got hungry. I took a video of him "playing" but haven't figured out how to post it yet, so once I figure it out I'll try to get it on here.

In one of my earlier posts I said that I was going to start eating healthy and stuff and I am pleased to report that, for the most part, I have been. I even started working out. I work out while watching Grey's Anatomy and now I'm rather sore lol. Last night I did 5 sets of 30 hip raises, which works your abs and I did 6 sets of 15 oblique crunches, or at least I think that's what they're called.

Well I'm off to gather my stuff for classes tomorrow and I need to take a shower.

Sweet Sisters' Treats

So Maegan, my sister, and I have decided to start our own business! As of right now it's called Sweet Sisters' Treats but the name is subject to change. We are going to be making cake balls and maybe other things as well. I'm pretty excited about it! We had our first brainstorming "meeting" Friday night and tried out a few ideas.  Some of them worked out pretty well, others didn't lol. I think for now we're just going to try to bring different desserts to various functions and get ourselves out there.
