Balloon Festival.. and other random stuff lol

This past Saturday me, my mom, dad, sister, nephew and Ryan(boyfriend) went to the Balloon Festival in Plano! It was fun! We got there around 5pm to see them launch the balloons but due to wind they weren't able to :(. Instead they did the "glow" which is where all the balloons light up. It was REALLY pretty! There are pictures but they don't do it justice. After the glow they shot off fireworks. Considering that they "scaled back" on the fireworks I was really impressed! It was really fun to just hang out and relax for an evening!

Oh, a cold front moved through here a few days ago! IT RAINED! AMAZEBALLS (something my mom and I started saying after we heard Giuliana Rancic say it lol). Anywho, I, of course, took a picture of the rain too just in case I forget what it looks like in the future.

So, since we got a wonderful "cold" front(which just means it is now in the upper 80's or lower 90's instead of 110+, but hey we'll take what we can get), I am having a bit of a flare up. Thankfully it isn't too bad. I've been pretty stiff the past few days and achy but it hasn't been horrible. I am sick with an upper respiratory infection though so that totally sucks. I woke up this morning with a 101 fever, assuming the thermometer was correct. We had to take my temp. three times because according the the first thermometer we used I should have been dead for a few hours and I assure you I was not but it was adamant about my being dead.

The love of my life

So, I'm in a mushy mood lol. Bare with me on this post.

I am so lucky to have Ryan in my life. He is funny, respectful, sarcastic, mature but not too mature. He isn't "the sweetest more romantic guy" in the world, but it works for us. As much as I say I would like the cheesy cliche romantic moments, that would get old after a while, and who wants a cliche relationship? I can guarantee you not many people have the relationship I have with Ryan. His idea of romance is tickling my arm while we lay on the couch and watch a show that he doesn't even like. He is ALWAYS honest with me, even if it's not what I want to hear. He doesn't give me everything I want just because I ask for it, he has no problem saying no, and I like that. I mean, at the time that he says no, I don't like it but in the grand scheme of things, I like that he says no to me. It works for us. I love our weird little relationship and can't wait to be his wife :).

Okay moving on. So I have succumb to the peer pressure and joined Twitter. I'm not really sure why. I just have a few people that I want to follow and that's really all. I don't totally understand Twitter lol. We shall see!

I have been staying busy with school. I have my first test for the semester on Wednesday in my communications class. I also have a test in Government and History on Friday. I think I am pretty well prepared so I'm not too worried about it. I am really excited about a new club I joined. Real Option On Campus. It is a christian pro life club that helps council and educate people about abortion. I am really excited to start helping out!

I was babysitting him and we were chilling out on the couch watching Charmed lol. He is getting so big :(. He's almost 9 months old! And he's trying to walk!!!!!!

Cooling down!

Finally we are getting out of the 100 degree weather! I'm so thankful for the "cooler" weather. Isn't it sad that I'm excited about upper 90's? I think it is lol.

It has been so busy since I have started school! I have finished two weeks and have 14 left! I like all my classes, for the most part. The professors are funny and make everything interesting, and actually make me WANT to go. I am actually interested in most everything the talk about, AMAZING! Lol. I am trying really hard not to miss class unless I have to. Yesterday I had TERRIBLE cramps. It was horrible but I survived so YAY :).

Last Wednesday Ryan had his wisdom teeth out. It was very interesting lol. He had the hiccups on the way home and his mouth was still numb. He wasn't loopy though which was disappointing to us both. I was greatly looking forward to making fun of him, and I guess he was looking forward to being made fun of? I don't know.

Anywho, Ryan, Maegan, Andrew and AJ are coming over for an "experimental meal night". We are making new dishes and are going to try them out. Hopefully it doesn't suck, otherwise we'll be in a heap of trouble lol.

New semester, new year!

I started my first day back to college yesterday. I had to wake up at 6:50 so I could leave at 7:15. I am soooo not a morning person! Luckily traffic was pretty light and parking wasn't too bad because I was there so early.

My first class, Humanities, starts at 8am. The professor is pretty funny. She plays Halo Reach on a weekly basis and is kind of the female version of Ryan lol. She seemed really nice and I got to know some of the people in my class, which is cool because I don't usually talk to anyone lol. I'm actually kind of looking forward to my humanities class :).

At 9 I go over to the next hall for government. My professor seems very nice. He dumbs down the information so people that are new to the country can understand it so that is really good because I tend to get lost in these kinds of classes. I like him though. He's funny.

My next class is at 10, speech. YUCK! Thankfully it is mostly inter personal speaking so we only have to give 2 formal speeches. Yay! My professor kind of remind me of Jessica Biel. They look nothing alike but they sound very similar. She claims to be very relaxed but based on yesterday, she didn't seem like she was lol. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see.

My last class is History. I haven't really formed much of an opinion on this professor. He is one of those people that try really hard to be funny which I kind of think is sad. He was obviously never the "popular kid". But he seems nice enough :).

Anywho, other than school all that has been going on is DRAMA.  People need to shut up and stop creating problems where there aren't any. It has been one thing after another for over a month now and I am soooo tired of people messing with me, my family and my friends. Get over yourself!

Oh Ryan has his wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow. I am meeting him after school to take him to get it done. He doesn't act nervous but Ryan doesn't ACT anything... ever. Lol. He is very good at pretending everything is ok. I'm not so good at that lol.

Well I guess I'll get off of here and do something productive, although I'm not sure what that would be since I am babysitting and all the kids are asleep lol. No homework yet either :) WOOT.

Bring on the Rain.... and the flare ups..

Well it finally rained! I was at Ryan's house last Thursday night and ended up spending the night because he was taking Hydrocodone and wasn't sure he would wake up so I stayed there to make sure he woke up for work the next morning. I woke up at 5am because I kept hearing this tapping on the window. You know how when you sleep in a place that isn't home EVERY tiny noise freaks you out? Or maybe it's just me.. but anywho I got up to see what it was and HOLY CRAP!!! There was this wet stuff falling from the sky?! Someone told me it was rain.. I had forgotten what it was it's been so long. It even began thundering! It was amazing!!! Well, I woke up MISERABLE! Ryan went to work and I was going to go home but I was hurting so bad the idea of gripping the steering wheel for 30 minutes and having to sit in one position made me want to die. I ended up taking 2 Aleve and 3 Tylenol PMs.... which of course, did nothing. I was miserable, Ryan was miserable because of his wisdom teeth... we were pretty pathetic. I ended up spending the night again. Sadly, the one person I thought would understand, didn't and that upset me a bit. It was the first time Ryan has ever seen me incapacitated. He was pretty sweet about it. We didn't really have anything that needed to be done so he played on his computer and I watched Netflix.

I have discovered that if I had Rebel and George at the apartment then I would feel much more at home than I do in my actual house. I have been told that it's because "home is where the heart is" and my heart is with Ryan. Also, there is no one there to tell me what to do. Everything is clean and organized(because i'm the one that cleans and organizes lol). I look forward to the day where my home is where my heart is...

I'm pretty happy with the way the apartment is going right now. We still have a lot of stuff to do to make it feel like home but that will take some time. Ryan has had 4 interviews in the last 2 days so hopefully he will be getting promoted soon :). As for me... I have signed up for classes, unfortunately I wasn't able to get any online classes like I had hoped but oh well.

It's Gettin' Hot In Here!

Holy crap it's HOT! The high yesterday was 108 and the high today is 109! 17 people died the other day due to the heat. It's been disgusting! I was outside last night and it was 99 degrees, AT MIDNIGHT! Whats worse is it felt good lol!

So, Katy and Austin left yesterday to go back to Mississippi. I had fun while they were here! Before they left me, Katy, Austin and Maegan all went to eat at The Twisted Root. I LOVE that place! The burgers there are AMAZING! Mammaw stayed behind to help with Aunt Emily's surgery. She is having a hysterectomy on Friday and I am on Mollie duty. I will be watching Mollie, Emily's daughter, for at least two weeks. I am happy to help but am already a bit stressed because I will probably have to wake up at 5:30am, leave at 6am so I can make the hour drive and get there at 7am when Mollie usually wakes up. Mollie is a great kid but she is VERY energetic and requires a lot of entertainment, which makes for a very tired Julie.

This week I have been watching four kids for 3 hours. I was on my way to work yesterday when Lumpy Larry Lumina (AKA my car) died twice. I was afraid to keep driving it out there because it is mostly one way roads and Larry doesn't have hazard lights. We just got Larry fixed and it is WAY to hot for Dad to get out there and look at it.

Fibro Update
I have been extremely busy this month. I haven't had any big flares but I have been sore lately. My joints have been aching and my shoulders, as always, hurt. I have been falling asleep earlier but when I wake up I am SOO tired! I am sure it won't get better anytime soon but hopefully I won't have any flare ups.
