Where to begin?

Man it has been a crazy two weeks! Let's see. I'll start with the most important thing and work my way down the list lol.

On Monday, the 17th my mom got a phone call from my Aunt Kathy. She has been on the liver transplant list for almost a year now and her condition was starting to get pretty serious. The doctors had been trying to get her onto a 2nd list in the hopes that between the two lists she would end up with a new liver. Well thankfully, God heard out prayers because at 4:40am on Monday Aunt Kathy was on her way to New Orleans to get her new liver! She has done fantastically well! She moved into an apartment that is right next door to the hospital and even went to Wal Mart today (I hate walmart but I guess it's better than nothing?). Mom should get to come home on Thursday. She had to be there because she is Aunt Kathy's power of attorney. So YAY for new livers!

2nd most important thing: New Shoes!!! I will HOPEFULLY be getting these boots as a late birthday present from my parents. If not, then the card shall read "To: Me    From: Me... since no one else got me anything" :D. It's only fair right? They are SOOO CUTE! Oh, and to go with my new shoes I have some shocking news.... I bought... jeggings. Yes world Julie Stevenson is now the owner of skinny jeans AND jeggings. The world must be ending. I have never liked jeggings, I always thought they were stupid but I tried them on and they make my butt look awesome and they would look AMAZING with my new boots... that I don't have yet... don't judge me.

I took my mom to Teavana and we HAD to buy some tea. We got 2 different kinds to help you sleep, one that is a blueberry raspberry blend and another one that is to help you wake up(it has the same amount of caffeine as coffee) The teas that help you sleep are white teas and they aren't my favorite but I love the other two!

And last on my list is a Fibro update!
It's been a while since I've said anything about my FM. I had a flare up the week of the 10th. It was one of my worst ones since I finished high school. We had a cold front move through and with that front of course comes rain. And with rain comes pain. My hands and feet and everything in between ached. I slept for pretty much the entire week. It was pretty bad. After that my days and nights were completely backwards. I was going to sleep at about 6am and waking up at noon. I ended up taking a sleeping pill Monday night to get things back on track. The last few days I have been REALLY tired. We had some more rain come through yesterday but it didn't cause a flare up, but maybe it is causing me to be more tired? I don't know. I can only speculate.

Oh, and I gave a speech about FM. I ended up having to do research on the topic. I found it somewhat irritating reading what all doctors say about this illness because it makes it VERY apparent that the majority of them don't listen to us, the patients. I have more or less given up on doctors. I'm tired of being told that I'm lying, or being a guinea pig. For now I will just complain on here and live with it. Besides, all they do is drug me and then tell me I'm lying when I tell them the meds didn't do anything.

Well, that's my Southern Soapbox for the day.

P.S. Rangers have ONE MORE WIN to win the world series! So excited!

Shopping!... Shoes Shoes Shoes!

Ya, I know I was supposed to write this a few days ago, or something like that. Sorry I got busy, then I had a flare up so here I am. Better late than never right?

Sooooo like I said before, I WENT SHOPPING!!! So much fun! I got 2 pairs of shoes from Charming Charlie, a pair of skinny jeans (which I'm wearing right now) and a skirt. Oh and a necklace :). So here are a few pictures of some of the stuff I got. I took them with my phone and the mirror was dirty so they aren't that great. I'll try to use the real camera and get some better ones.

I really hate the stance I'm in but I was having a hard time getting in an angle where you could see the shoes and dress... so now I look like Super Women. Anywho, the booties are one of the two pairs of shoes I got from Charming Charlie. They had another pair of boots that I really liked too. They were "taupe" and didn't have a buckle on them. These are REALLY comfy! The sweater dress is not new. Last year I went on a "sweater dress escapade" lol. I ended up getting three of them, all in different colors, in one season. I think I need to get in a bit better shape and make have a wide belt or something to put with this. I hate that little black "belt". In person it looks like it belongs on a bath robe. Anywho, I love these shoes and with a different belt this is probably going to be one of my favorite cold weather outfits :)

OMG these shoes are TO DIE FOR! Seriously, I saw these and fell in love! They are really comfy and SO CUTE! Need I say more? I am also wearing my new, and FIRST EVER, pair of skinny jeans! I got them from American Eagle. They are seriously, the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever worn! As you can probably see in the picture, they're a little long, but I am kind of liking them that way. I am wearing them right now with a pair of brown, no heeled, boots. The top I'm wearing is what I call my Angel Top lol. I guess you would call it a kimono sleeve top? I'm not really sure but I LOVE it! This is probably one of my favorite outfits lol.

So, as you have probably noticed, I am slightly in love with shoes. You may be wondering how many shoes I have. Now, I don't really consider my collection to be TOO bad... some women I have talked to have like 100 shoes. I am not nearly that bad. With that said.... take a look at my shoe collection :)

You are looking at 30 of my 32 pairs of shoes (my two pairs of tennis shoes are not there). 14 of these are heels. 6 of these are boots(2 of which are heeled boots, 2 flat, 1 pair of western boots that I do not ride horses in and 1 pair of English riding boots). Then I have 5 pairs of flats, 3 sandals and 4 flip flops. I love my shoes :). Oh and in case you are wondering, the most expensive pair of shoes I own are $90. They are Jessica Simpson's Parigi (2nd row from the bottom #s 4 and 5.. yup I have two of them, one black and one "eggplant"). They are right next to where my boots start :).

Ok well that's my Southern Soapbox for the day.. or at least for now. I may post again later.

Communication and Technology

I was sitting at a little restaurant eating breakfast with Ryan and his best friend Juan. The guys were talking about something I have absolutely zero knowledge about, which is fine. They're guys. What bugged me was when I started talking about something they BOTH got on their phones. They claimed they were listening. Well Ryan was honest, as he always is, and said I was "half listening because I don't really care". Can I just say RUDE! Even if they were both "listening" it is still rude to be on your phone when someone is talking to you. I don't mind if they get a text and they read it really fast and maybe even answer but Ryan was playing a game and I have no idea what Juan was doing but they were both completely consumed with their phones pretty much the entire time I was talking.

Sometimes I wonder if Ryan would actually talk to me if he didn't have a cell phone, computer or TV. We don't have a lot in common and he is not the talkative type but I find myself very frustrated with the silence. I will make an attempt to start a conversation and he usually replies with "Okay" and that's it. Is it normal for us to have this little of communication? Is it a bad sign? We've been together for 4 years and I don't remember if we ever really talked. Apparently it doesn't bother us that much since we've endured it for 4 years. But I don't want to endure a relationship, or a part of the relationship.

Well, that's my Southern Soapbox of the day.

BTW, I will probably do another post later today. I went shopping and took some pics of the things I got! :D

Tootles!

Opps..

So ya I know I said I would post the other day but I didn't really have anything to say and I didn't end up making anything for supper. Me, Ryan, Meagan(the friend,  not the sister) and my neighbor Laramie were all over at the house and we just ended up ordering pizza since there isn't much to cook here. We had gone out looking for shoes for Meagan(idk what they were thinking taking me into a shoe store.. but shockingly i didn't buy anything :( sad day) since she got a new job YAY! I so need to get a real job but I SOOOO don't want to. I love being around my kiddos and really really don't want to do anything else.

Anywho, I think I have decided to take over cooking at my house. My mom doesn't cook very often which means we end up eating junk which is starting to show... and I need more practice in the kitchen anyways. I found some REALLY yummy recipes while I was over at my sister Maegan's house and I REALLY want to try them out! I need to clean out the fridge and pantry but I hate doing that, but as usual I am the only one that will. It doesn't take very long for boxes to end up on the floor and things just get shoved in where ever it is convenient for someone to put them. It drives me NUTS. What is so difficult about putting something back where it belongs? Last night I went to get a towel from my linen closet and someone had shoved a towel right on top of a blanket. First of all, my linen closet is LABLED in the hopes that people would put things where they go, 2nd why would you put a towel with a blanket? It makes no sense. GAH!

Ok, moving on. Like I said I was at my sister's house last night :). I got to play with my little nephew! He is getting SO big, and mischievous. While I was looking through the Cooking Light magazines AJ came up and wanted to read too. I told him "no" and he shook his head and said "no" then started touching them again. I told him "no" again and he shook his head. When that didn't work I swatted his hand. He just looked at me and shoot his head no lol. THEN the little stinker... as he was touching the magazine he was shaking his head no. What a little toot. He's going to be a trouble maker. I went over there to give him a bath because Maegan can't right now because she's sick, but that's a long story. The entire time he was in the bathtub he was playing with his little boy parts. Man that kid must feel no pain because he can pull on that thing like nothing I've ever seen before... OUCH! Anywho, I am going back over there this evening to spend the night and hang out with my saster :). We are going to watching Hello Dolly... because we are just that cool :D.

Well that's my Southern Soapbox for the day :) Have a good one!

Birthdays and things...

Well Monday was my 20th birthday, it was also my mom's birthday :). It was extremely busy so we didn't actually celebrate. I have been sick since Friday so I was still recovering on Monday and my sister got REALLY sick, they are now thinking that she might have Crohns disease, but at the time they thought she had appendicitis. Anywho, Mom and I ended up watching AJ while Maegan's hubby took her too the doctor. I haven't gotten any presents, I'm not sure if that's because we were too busy or b/c no one got me anything but whatever lol.

I never went to sleep on Monday night. I'm not really sure why but I couldn't so I went over to Ryan's to have breakfast at about 7am. I went to sleep on the couch while he cleaned lol and then I woke up around 1pm and we went to the grocery store. I made a menu for the next two weeks and am going to be trying a new recipe, Apple Chicken. The original recipe was Apricot Chicken, not apple, but Ryan didn't want apricot so.. we're gunna hope apple will work lol. I also have White Chili on the menu and a few other things. I'll post them as I make them and let you know how it turns out :).

OHHHH Mannnn I was so angry when I got home and came into my room! So when I left to go to Ryan's this morning I was a nice mommy and let Rebel stay in my room, as opposed to kenneling him(which would cause him to bark and wake Mom up and blah blah blah). So apparently he got bored and this is what he decided to do to pass time. I am still FURIOUS. This is the puppy that Ryan gave me on our 6 month(?) anniversary.. I think... lol. Anywho, yes I do sleep with it. I was so angry that I cried, and yes, I'm aware that is stupid but my stupidity didn't stop there. I felt the need to express to someone that I was so upset about this that it actually caused me to cry... so what did I do? I called someone... Who did I call you might ask? The one person that couldn't care less... Ryan. He, of course, totally did not get why I was so upset(honestly, neither did/do I but GRR MEN!). Why the heck did I call RYAN of all people? "Babe Rebel ate the nose off my puppy you gave me" Ryan's response: "Well, I guess we won't be using him as a drug dog now." Clever, and funny now but it made me mad at the time... Anywho ya..

Fibro update: So, as I already mentioned I haven't been sleeping very much and I've been sick. I haven't had any major flare ups lately but a cold front came through a week or so ago, I think and that did cause me to get pretty achy but nothing too bad. I hurt for a few days but not so much that I couldn't go to class or anything. I need to start exercising more but I am SOOOO not motivated to do anything lol. I need a walking buddy :/.

Well, that's my Southern Soapbox for the day. I'll let you know what I make for supper tomorrow night :) Good night!
