5 Things

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Here are 5 things I did this weekend!

Five:
I've spent all weekend being sick. Well, not really sick. I'm still convincing myself that it's allergies or sinuses. I refuse to be sick.

Four:

Ryan and I spent all day Saturday together. He wasn't on call and I wasn't working so we went to IHop and had breakfast together. Then we went Collin Creek Mall to go shopping. He got some slacks and Polos for work and I got two dresses. After that we went on a date to Kroger because he was low on milk. I know, we're so romantic, but it was nice. Even though we didn't do anything different or romantic we spent the entire day together eating, shopping and watching Community(Which by the way, is an amazing TV show and you should watch it too. It's on Hulu.) I kinda love that guy...

Three:

On Sunday Mom made a really yummy lunch! She made baked ham, carrots, cheesy scalloped potatoes, and my favorite.... green bean casserole. It was amazing. Then of course we had Easter baskets. Rebel got a duck for Easter, Jixer got one of those long "wiener dog" toys (I don't know what they're called), and Martin got a hedgehog. All in all, it was a pretty good Easter :).

Two:
For those of you who haven't watched Community, you're missing out. It's REALLY funny. It's become mine and Ryan's TV show. Abed ROCKS.

One:
Sunday I was sitting on the floor in Ryan's apartment reading a book while he was fiddling with his computer (he's been rebuilding it) when I reached for my glass and saw a roach crawling on it. I leaped up on the couch. in one fluid motion, I might add (I'm sure it looked REALLY cool), and proceeded to yell at tell Ryan that their was a roach. He quickly came to my rescue and beat it with his flip flop. He's kinda like a knight in shining armor -except he's a nerd, wearing shorts and rather than a shiny sword he was wielding a flip flop. None-the-less I was grateful to have been rescued.

I hope you had a great, roach-free, weekend and that you all had wonderful Easter's with your families! Well that's my Southern Soapbox! Tootles!

5 things

It's been a while!

Five:
As I was driving to pick Ryan up for a date I saw the prettiest sunset! This picture doesn't do it justice. I am enjoying the several more hours of daylight!

Four:
I had a BUSY weekend! Friday from 4:30pm-12:30am I babysat 3 adorable kids. Then I babysat them again from 6:40am-7ish pm. By the way... it's very depressing being awake before the sun rises

Three:
I got my first sunburn of the year. Not sure if I'm excited or not. Tanning is always nice and I enjoyed the time I spent at the park on Saturday, but perhaps 3.5 hours is a big too long for my whiteness.
 Two:
I had lunch with Dad Sunday after church. Which reminds me, I also worked Sunday morning in the nursery. It was nice just sitting there, the two of us, talking and eating yummy food.

One:
Yup, this is probably going to be the highlight of my weekend, even though it happened today. We finally got all the bookshelves put together AND got all the books put on them! I still have to go through the games tomorrow and put them in the cabinets but there are not longer boxes filled with books on the floor in the dining room! Now there are empty boxes all over our new "library". Oh well, we can use them to donate some games.
All 4 shelves, plus part of Rebel's kennel.
The far right shelf

One of the middle shelves/cabinets. I love dad's firetruck
books and his art books on the bottom.

Another middle shelf/cabinet
I had fun organizing all the books. There are some really cool looking old books. I'll have to get close up pictures of them with the actual camera, these were just taken with my phone. I didn't do a close up of the far left shelf, it's nothing spectacular. It mostly contains Dad's woodworking magazines.

Well that's my Southern Soapbox! What did you guys do this weekend?

5 Things

My 5 things from this weekend are...

5. Degrassi.. yup.. I'm watching Degrassi: The Next Generation. No, I'm not proud of that.

4. Rosa's! YUM I got something new too. I got a beef fajita SALAD.. instead of my usual beef fajitas... that's me, the daring, adventurous one.
3. The Superbowl Party. GO GIANTS! Need I say more? Well.. actually.. yes I do. I went with my dad, sister and my adorable Stinky Monkey (my nephew). Stink Monkey was CRAZY! He would run around chasing the older boys and girls. It was really cute. If my phone hadn't been dying, I would have taken a video of it.

2. Speaking of phones... I GOT A NEW ONE! I got the LG Nitro HD (do you know how long it took me to remember that? oh... about 2 or 3 days). I LOVE it! It's a 4g LTE phone and the rear facing camera is 8mp! Not to mention the fact that the screen is longer than my index finger.... excuse me while I have a love affair with my new phone.. it's kind of totally awesome.

1. Nap time... I love nap time. It's probably one of my favorite parts about Sundays... ah nap time :D

Well, that's my Southern Soapbox for the day! I have to go figure out what Ryan and I are going to do for Valentines Day. What did y'all do this weekend? Do you guys have any plans for Valentines Day?

5 things

My 5 things from this past weekend are.....

1. I made stir fry for the whole family this weekend. I had to make it in two separate pans and then combine it into one so I could cook enough. I fed 8 people! It was delicious!

2. One For The Money was a great movie! Katherine Heigl did a wonderful job! Go check out the books by Janet Evonovich!

3. I love game night with my family! Rook is my favorite game!

4. I love that movie! Technically I watched it Monday evening but it's so good I couldn't not mention it!

5. Finally, #5 is homemade bread. Mom got a bread machine for Christmas so now we make our sandwiches on homemade bread! Can't wait to try some other recipes too!

If you noticed, I did my list a bit differently. I actually wrote my "5 things" on a dry erase board, took a picture, emailed it to myself, then edited it in Paint. I think, considering I did it pretty quickly and on Paint, that it looks pretty good but my standards are pretty low lol. Let me know what you think! What were your 5 things from this weekend?

That's my Southern Soapbox! See you tomorrow!

5 things

I am going to try to start doing something new on Mondays. I am going to list 5 things that I did or that happened this weekend. Hopefully most of them will be good things, but on occasion I may feel the need to vent about something, sorry but it happens. Also, I would like to point out that I have a HORRIBLE memory... so a lot of my "memories" will come from Facebook lol. I put almost everything important or exciting on Facebook. I know, that's horrible but if I don't then I wouldn't know what the heck I did every day.

Let's get started!
Five
This weather! Well at least Friday and Sunday's weather. It was 75 degrees outside! I was wearing capris and a tank top! It was amazing. The kind of weather where I read a book OUTSIDE, just because I can. WOOT!

Four
Saturday Maegan and I killed ourselves at the gym. That was FUN! Haha... ya...

Three
After Maegan and I got home from the gym I took a FAST shower and went on a DATE (like a real one where we both look pretty and go eat and talk and WOW) with Ryan. Crazy right?!After our date we went back to Ryan's apartment and watched White Collar. Is it weird that going to Boomer Jacks and watching White Collar was a perfect date night? We had fun and laughed and snuggled... and Jixer licked me until I thought I was going to drown. Does it get any better?

Two
Sunday I went shooting with my dad and brother in law. I sucked, they didn't.. yay them, boo me. I hit maybe 8-10ish out of 25 clays (granted this is the 3rd time I've gone shooting but still.. I suck). They hit all but like 2 of theirs. Yes, I'm pouting as I write this.

One
The best part of my weekend! Friday morning Andrew (my brother-in-law) had to go to work early so I got to babysit AJ! He's getting SO BIG! He wasn't awake when I got there at 8:30am so I took a nap on the couch. The joys of "working" for relatives, you don't have to be professional (I have only done that in one other house, and that's because I was recovering from mono). Anywho, after he woke I had to feed him breakfast, and after he ate breakfast I had to rent a fork lift to pick him up. He ate one WHOLE banana, a WHOLE blueberry muffin, a handful of Cheerios AND TWO cups of milk! Little Piggy! I love my Stinky Monkey. Then later that night Maegan and I had girls night! We watched The Vampire Diaries (which meant swooning over Ian Somerhalder.. YUM) and we watched Friends while eating raw cookie dough. Friday was a pretty good day :).

I hope you've enjoyed my  edition of "5 Things" and hopefully I will do enough entertaining things to keep this up lol. That's all for my Southern Soapbox! have a good night!
